900€ Gaming PC Build – Jan 2025

Here is a build targeting 900€ focused on 1080p or even 1440p games and esports scenarios where high refresh rate experiences are needed, streaming, and productivity tasks.

This Build focuses on maximizing the performance per euro while keeping it future-proof and reliable, it uses the same main components as the 800€ build while improving on the motherboard, memory, case, and power supply.

All prices are based on Portugal stores and other shops outside the country.

Parts

Good board for the price, since it is a B850 and has good VRMs you will be able to overclock the CPU to maximize the GPU utilization.

Paired with 6 cores and 12 threads this CPU is a really good performance per euro option, I would like to replace him with the Ryzen 5 7600 or the Ryzen 5 7500f but the price of them here is too high so I’m sticking with this one.

The cooler included with the CPU is enough for this build, there is no need to buy a different one unless we are going to overclock a lot, if that’s the case then a cheap AIO will do the job.

At the time of writing this, in Portugal, this card is not available but when this card launches here, it could be a good alternative to the RX 7600 if the pricing is right, for now, I would still recommend going to the alternative card because the card also performs a bit worse with PCIe 3.0 and CPUs with 3+ years, the Motherboard and CPU combo that was chosen here have Resizable BAR compatibility so that won’t be a problem.

Great card for the buck, great for 1080p, and enough for 1440p games with textures on low because of the 8GB of VRAM but for me where it excels the most is on esports titles where it can be ideal for high refresh rate experiences, at the time of writing I was able to find on Portugal some models of this card below 280€, I would not pay much more than this.

Really good kit with very fast speeds, but don’t be limited at this one, this is just an example and you should search if you can find a better kit at the moment especially with more speed (6400mhz+) because AMD CPUs love memory speed and you will avoid some bottlenecks in specific scenarios. Just don’t make the mistake of overspending on RAM.

Very Fast NVME storage and with enough space for apps and games, I recommend you get an extra SATA SSD with at least 1TB of capacity for your games and cold storage. It can be a DRAM-less model to keep costs down since your operating system will be installed on a much faster drive. As always, be sure to look for sales to get the best deal.

Good case with multiple fans pre-installed that help the ventilation of the machine also has RGB and looks really good.

Good power supply from a reputable brand and with 80 PLUS Gold certification, also since it’s a 650w unit, it has a lot of headroom for this build.

Alternatives and recommendations

One component that you may add is an AIO watercooler to open headroom for overclocking, a cheap one will do the job and you will be able to push the CPU even further.

Benchmarks

On the video below you will find some game benchmarks on a machine running with similar specs.

Since the CPU is not the same, on CPU bottleneck cenarios you may expect 10% less performance on some titles (with overclocking you may be able to remove this), the GPU is the same so those benchmarks with a GPU bottleneck are close to this build.
